What are your rates?

They vary based on the factors described below. Submit your document for a free quote.

What are the factors that affect the cost of a translation?

The most important factors are: subject matter, complexity, urgency, formatting, and legibility of the original.

Can you do a certified translation of a birth certificate?

Yes. When requested, I submit a Certificate of Accuracy with the translation which meets USCIS requirements for birth certificates.

Can you translate into Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, or Hebrew?

In the case of birth certificates and marriage certificates, yes. However, more complex texts demand a native speaker of the target language (the language the document is being translated into) to guarantee the highest possible quality. Ask me for referrals to other translators in case you need a service I don't offer.

Why should I hire a freelance translator instead of a translation agency?

Most translation agencies work by subcontracting most or all of their projects out to freelance translators. While it may be convenient to work with only one agency that covers all languages and areas of expertise, it can be faster and more cost-effective to cut out the middleman and work directly with freelance translators in the relevant fields.
